Navi Mumbai: The good Samaritans have collectively come forward to help the four-year-old Ananya Pednekar, who survived the terrible accident on Palm Beach road and helped collect Rs 20 lakh within 48 hours of the crowd funding link going live.

Ananya along with her father Manish (40) and mother Sneha (34) had gone out to celebrate Sneha’s birthday and were going home from Belapur to Airoli via Palm Beach road when a drunk SUV driver driving Thar, collided with Kwid card of Pednekar family at Sarsole junction on Palm Beach road. In the accident, Manish died on the spot while Sneha and Ananya both received injuries.

Sneha was undergoing treatment at DY Patil hospital while Ananya at Apollo hospital. While Sneha has been discharged now, Ananya is still critical and is in PICU of Apollo hospital.

According to the officials, MRI reports of the four year old, suggest that she has suffered internal damage to the brain. Her entire face including the jawbone is fractured and she will require plastic surgery. The lungs too have faced damages. The Kidney functioning of the child is disturbing with the creatinine levels being high.

“She has faced multiple fractures including collar bone and wrist bone fracture. She is still unconscious. She had undergone multiple surgeries and is expected to go more. We all are hoping and praying that she stands on her feet soon,” a police officer from Nerul police station said.

The family was struggling to pay the medical fees which are expected to go to Rs 20 lakh for all the treatment and surgeries the child required. Apollo hospital helped the family source the funding via impactguru and have managed to get help of Rs 20 lakh within two days. Even as the crowd funding link went live, before 24 hours, they received Rs 10 lakh funding.

The link has been seen shared across the social media platforms and whatsapp groups by random people who have no relation with Pednekar family. Many groups are buzzing with wanting to know how the child has been doing. The appeal on the impactguru site was made by Samata Goad, aunt of Ananya.

The appeal said- Ananya, my precious little niece, was taken to Apollo Hospital in Belapur, Navi Mumbai. She underwent one major surgery on her jaw (mandible), and the doctors have told us that she requires several more surgeries and at least a month in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to recover. The trauma to their family is beyond comprehension. Ananya, at such a young age, is enduring pain and uncertainty that no child should ever have to face. Sneha is battling for her life, with her heart shattered not only by the physical injuries but also by the loss of her husband, who meant everything to her. The family is in shock and grief, struggling to cope with the loss and the mounting medical expenses. So far, the family has managed to pay around ₹2,00,000 towards the medical costs, but the total estimated expenses for Ananya’s and Sneha’s treatment are around ₹20,00,000-an amount far beyond their capacity to bear. A Muslim youth named Firoz kidnapped a 22-year-old tribal girl from Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh. From Kondagaon, the accused took the girl to Mumbai’s Dharavi and raped her for nearly one and a half years.

The accused Firoz not only kept the victim tied up in a dark room but also burnt her genitals by pouring chemicals. Firoz has been arrested from Uttar Pradesh.

The matter pertains to a village in the Makdi police station area, Kondagaon district, Bastar division. The 22-year-old tribal girl said that in 2023, as her health deteriorated, she went to Kondagaon Hospital for treatment, there, Firoz broke a bottle and placed it around her neck before kidnapping her. The perpetrator kidnapped the victim, seized her phone, and held her captive in Dharavi, Mumbai.

The victim further said that around 2022-23, she received a call from an unknown number on her phone. She would frequently disconnect and block the unknown number, but Firoz continued to follow her. He would ask the victim to meet him, but she would decline. When the victim’s health deteriorated, she traveled to Kondagaon for treatment. Somehow, accused Firoz learnt about this and followed the victim.

In a secluded area, Firoz stopped the girl and placed a broken glass bottle around her neck before kidnapping her and taking her to Mumbai. Firoz also seized the victim’s phone and sent a message to her family. He wrote, “I am safe. I am in love with a boy and intend to marry him. You people don’t worry about me.”

Another report says that Firoz and the victim met on Facebook in 2023 and Firoz lured the girl during the conservation. Regarding the kidnapping, the police said that the accused is a native of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh and had come to Kondagaon to meet the girl. On the 7th of June 2023, both of them went to Mumbai. They stayed there for more than a year, and the victim returned to Kondagaon in November 2024.

The girl said that Firoz works in a factory in Mumbai. He kept her in a small room in the Dharavi slum which did not even have a window. The girl added that when Firoz used to go to the factory for work in the morning, he would tie her hands and legs with a cloth. Moreover, he used to pull her hair and brutally thrash her. She further stated that the accused deprived her of food and other essentials. The victim claimed that since she did not know anyone in Dharavi, she endured Firoz’s brutalities for months.

In addition, the victim said that for over 1.5 years, Firoz raped her multiple times and upon refusing, he would mercilessly beat her. Three months ago, when the victim stopped Firoz from raping her again, the accused allegedly poured chemicals into her private part and burnt it.

Detailing how she managed to escape Firoz’s captivity, the victim said that one day, Firoz forgot his mobile at his home. The victim checked his phone and found the number of the owner of the factory where the accused worked. The victim dialled the number and revealed her ordeal. The factory-owner helped the victim escape and she reached the railway station. From there, the victim reached her native village in Kondagaon and informed her family about Firoz’s crimes. Subsequently, the victim lodged an FIR against the accused.

Meanwhile, the victim has been admitted to the district hospital of Kondagaon, where she is undergoing treatment. Dr RC Thakur, Civil Surgeon at Kondagaon District Hospital, stated that on the 5th of November, the victim arrived at the hospital complaining of vomiting, weakness, and stomach pain. It has been found that there is a long-standing infection in the private part.

The civil surgeon says that there were no burns or injuries on the girl’s body. Meanwhile, accused Firoz has been arrested by Kondagaon police in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He has been brought to Kondagaon. Additional Superintendent of Police Kaushalendra Dev Patel said that the police of the Makdi police station area are interrogating the accused.

Reliance Retail has announced the temporary closure of several Centro stores as part of a strategic revamp aimed at repositioning the department chain.

2021 ഏപ്രില്‍ അഞ്ചിനാണ് നാടുനടുക്കിയ സംഭവം. വൈകിട്ട് മൂന്നു മണിയോടെ പത്തനംതിട്ട ജനറല്‍ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ രണ്ടു സ്ത്രീകള്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന് കൊണ്ടു വന്ന കുട്ടിയെ ഡോക്ടര്‍ പരിശോധിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ മരണപ്പെട്ടതായി കണ്ടെത്തി. കുട്ടിയുടെ ശരീരത്തില്‍ 67 മുറിവുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. കത്തികൊണ്ട് വരഞ്ഞതും ചോറു വിളമ്ബുന്ന തവി കൊണ്ട് കുത്തിയതും അടിച്ചതുമായിരുന്നു മുറിവുകള്‍. മൃഗീയവും ക്രൂരവുമായ മര്‍ദ്ദനവും ലൈംഗിക പീഡനവുമാണ് കുട്ടി അനുഭവിച്ചത്. തന്റെ സംരക്ഷണയിലുള്ള കുട്ടിയെ ഒഴിവാക്കുകയായിരുന്നു പ്രതിയുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം. കുട്ടിയുടെ പിതാവിനോടുള്ള വിരോധവും കാരണമായി. കുട്ടി ലൈംഗിക പീഡനത്തിന് ഇരയായതായി പോസ്റ്റ്‌മോര്‍ട്ടം പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം കോട്ടയം മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജ് ആശുപത്രിയിലെ ഡോക്ടര്‍മാര്‍ പോലീസിനെ അറിയിച്ചു. കൂടുതല്‍ അന്വേഷണത്തില്‍ കുട്ടിയെ ലഹരിക്കടിമയായ പ്രതി തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടില്‍ വച്ചും കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുവാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചതായി പോലീസ് സംഘം കണ്ടെത്തി. വിരുതുനഗര്‍ ജില്ലയില്‍ തെങ്കാശി പരുവക്കുടിയിലുള്ള വ്യക്തിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള ഫാമില്‍ വച്ച്‌ ഒരിക്കല്‍ കുട്ടിയെ തലയ്ക്കടിച്ചു വീഴ്ത്തി. തലച്ചോറിന് ഗുരുതരമായി പരുക്കേറ്റു. വലത് നെറ്റിയില്‍ ഗുരുതരമായ പരുക്കും സംഭവിച്ചു. രാജപാളയം ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തിച്ചപ്പോള്‍, ഡോക്ടര്‍മാരോട് ഇയാള്‍ പറഞ്ഞത് കളിക്കിടയില്‍ വീണു പരിക്കേറ്റു എന്നായിരുന്നു. പരുക്ക് ഗുരുതരമായതിനാല്‍ തിരുനല്‍വേലി മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജ് ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് പിന്നീട് മാറ്റി.

അവിടെ നിന്നും ഡിസ്ചാര്‍ജ് ചെയ്ത് കുട്ടിയെ കുമ്ബഴയിലെത്തിച്ച്‌ ഇവര്‍ക്കൊപ്പം താമസിപ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ലഹരിവസ്തുക്കള്‍ക്ക് അടിമയായ പ്രതി പല വിധത്തിലുള്ള മര്‍ദ്ദനങ്ങള്‍ ഇവിടെ വച്ചും തുടര്‍ന്നു. സംഭവ ദിവസം വൈകിട്ട് 2.50 ന് മുമ്ബുള്ള സമയം വരെ ഇവിടെ വച്ച്‌ പലതവണ കുട്ടിയെ ശാരീരികമായും ലൈംഗികമായും അതിക്രൂരമായ വിധത്തില്‍ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു. അന്നുതന്നെ പലതവണ ഇയാള്‍ പ്രകൃതിവിരുദ്ധ ലൈംഗിക പീഡനത്തിന് വിധേയയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. സമാനതകളില്ലാത്ത ലൈംഗികവൈകൃതങ്ങളാണ് കുട്ടിയോട് ഇയാള്‍ കാട്ടിയത്. തല പിടിച്ച്‌ ഭിത്തിയില്‍ ഇടിച്ചതു കാരണം തലയുടെ പിന്നില്‍ ഗുരുതരമായ പരിക്കുകളുമുണ്ടായി. മുഖത്തും നാഭിക്കും തൊഴിച്ചു, ഇടതുവശത്തെ രണ്ടു വാരിയെല്ലുകള്‍ക്ക് പൊട്ടലുണ്ടായി. വൃക്കകള്‍ക്കും ക്ഷതമേറ്റു. ശരീരമാസകലമേറ്റ പരിക്കുകളുടെ കാഠിനത്താല്‍ മരണം സംഭവിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

തമിഴ്‌നാട് രാജപാളയം സ്വദേശികളായ അലക്‌സ് പാണ്ട്യനും കുട്ടിയുടെ അമ്മയും തൊഴില്‍ തേടി കുമ്ബഴയിലെത്തിയതാണ്. ഇവിടെ വാടകവീട്ടില്‍ താമസമായ ശേഷമാണ് യുവതിയുടെ ആദ്യ വിവാഹത്തിലെ രണ്ടു മക്കളില്‍ മൂത്തകുട്ടിയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നത്. ആദ്യ ഭര്‍ത്താവ് ഇവരെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയതാണ്. കുട്ടിയുടെ അമ്മ അടുത്ത വീടുകളില്‍ പണിക്കു പോകാറുണ്ട്. ഈ സമയം മകളെ അലക്‌സിനെ ഏല്‍പ്പിക്കും. സംഭവ ദിവസവും ഇപ്രകാരം ഇയാളെ ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ചിട്ട് പണിക്കുപോയി. തിരിച്ചു വന്നപ്പോള്‍ കണ്ടത് ദേഹമാകെ മുറിവേറ്റ് അബോധാവസ്ഥയിലായ കുട്ടിയെയായിരുന്നു. അലക്‌സിനോട് ചോദിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ മര്‍ദ്ദനമായിരുന്നു മറുപടി. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അയല്‍വാസികളോട് വിവരം പറയുകയും അവരുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു. തന്റെയും യുവതിയുടെയും ജീവിതത്തില്‍ നിന്നും കുഞ്ഞിനെ ഒഴിവാക്കലായിരുന്നു പ്രതിയുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം.

ജനറല്‍ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ നിന്നും സംഭവദിവസം വൈകിട്ട് അഞ്ചേമുക്കാലോടെയാണ് പത്തനംതിട്ട സ്‌റ്റേഷനില്‍ അറിയിപ്പ് ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. തുടര്‍ന്ന് എസ്.എച്ച്‌.ഓ ആയിരുന്ന ഇന്‍സ്‌പെക്ടര്‍ ബിനീഷ് ലാല്‍ അസ്വാഭാവിക മരണത്തിന് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തു. ജില്ലാ പോലീസ് മേധാവിയായിരുന്ന ആര്‍. നിശാന്തിനിയുടെ ഉത്തരവ് പ്രകാരം ഡിവൈ.എസ്.പി പ്രദീപ്കുമാറിന്റെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തില്‍ ഉടനടി പ്രത്യേക സംഘം രൂപീകരിച്ച്‌ അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. പ്രതി അലക്‌സ് പാണ്ഡ്യനെ വൈകിട്ട് ആറിന് കസ്റ്റഡിയില്‍ എടുത്ത് പത്തനംതിട്ട സേ്റ്റഷനില്‍ എത്തിച്ചു. കുലശേഖരപ്പേട്ടയില്‍ നിന്നാണ് ഇയാളെ പിടികൂടിയത്. മാതാവിന്റെ മൊഴി അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തില്‍ കൊലപാതകമെന്ന് വ്യക്തമായ. ഇന്‍സ്‌പെക്ടര്‍ ബിനീഷ് ലാല്‍ തന്നെ കോടതിയില്‍ കുറ്റപത്രം സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. സ്‌പെഷ്യല്‍ പ്രോസിക്യൂട്ടര്‍ ആയി അഡ്വക്കേറ്റ് നവീന്‍ എം ഈശോയെ നിയമിച്ചു. വിചാരണസമയത്ത് എല്ലാ സാക്ഷികളും കൃത്യമായ മൊഴികള്‍ നല്‍കിയതും സാഹചര്യതെളിവുകളും പ്രോസിക്യൂഷന് സഹായകമായി. മലയാലപ്പുഴ എസ്.എച്ച്‌.ഓ മനോജ് കുമാര്‍, വുമണ്‍ സെല്‍ ഇന്‍സ്‌പെക്ടര്‍ ലീലാമ്മ, പത്തനംതിട്ട എസ്.ഐമാരായിരുന്ന സഞ്ജു ജോസഫ്, സവിരാജന്‍, സന്തോഷ്, എ.എസ്.ഐമാരായ സന്തോഷ്, ആന്‍സി, സി.പി.ഓ അരുണ്‍ ദേവ് എന്നിവരാണ് സംഘത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്.
പിടികൂടിയ രാത്രിയില്‍ തന്നെ പ്രതി കൈവിലങ്ങുമായി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. പോലീസ് ജീപ്പിന്റെ ചില്ല് തകര്‍ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പോലീസും നാട്ടുകാരും ചേര്‍ന്ന് രാത്രി മുഴുവന്‍ ഉറക്കമിളച്ച്‌ നടത്തിയ തെരച്ചിലില്‍ കുമ്ബഴ തുണ്ടുമണ്‍ കരയില്‍ നിന്നും പുലര്‍ച്ചെ ആറുമണിയോടെ പിടികൂടി. വിചാരണയ്ക്കിടെ ഒരുതവണ പ്രതി കോടതിവളപ്പില്‍ ആത്മഹത്യക്ക് ശ്രമിച്ചിരുന്നു.

ഇന്ത്യൻ ടീമില്‍ ഏറെനാളത്തെ കാത്തിരിപ്പിന് ശേഷം അർഹിച്ച അവസരം സഞ്ജുവിനെ തേടി എത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്. കിട്ടിയ അവസരം ഗംഭീര പ്രകടനം കൊണ്ട് മുതലാക്കാനും താരത്തിന് സാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

ലഖ്‌നൗവില്‍ മഹാനഗർ കോട്‌വാലി മേഖലയിലാണ് സംഭവം നടന്നത്, ഞായറാഴ്ച പരാതിയുമായെത്തിയ വനിതാ ഇൻസ്‌പെക്ടർ സ്റ്റേഷനില്‍ കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണു.

വനിതാ ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ കണ്ണീരോടെ മുതിർന്ന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരോട് തനിക്ക് നേരിട്ട ദുരനുഭവം വിവരിച്ചു. തന്റെ ആദ്യ ഭർത്താവ് മരിച്ചുപോയി, ഒരു മകനുണ്ട്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മരണശേഷം, ലഖ്‌നൗവില്‍ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ട കാലത്ത് ഈ സബ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടറുമായി അവള്‍ സൗഹൃദം കണ്ടെത്തി, ഒടുവില്‍ അവർ വിവാഹിതരായി. ഭർത്താവ് തന്റെ സഹോദരഭാര്യയുമായി ബന്ധമുണ്ടെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയതോടെ അവള്‍ തകർന്നു.

“എന്റെ ഭർത്താവിന്റെ പെരുമാറ്റത്തെക്കുറിച്ച്‌ ഞാൻ എതിര്‍ത്തപ്പോള്‍, അയാള്‍ എന്നെ ആക്രമിച്ചു. ഭർതൃസഹോദരനും സഹായിച്ചില്ല. അയാള്‍ എന്നോട് മോശമായി പെരുമാറാൻ തുടങ്ങി. എന്റെ കഴുത്തു ഞെരിച്ച്‌ കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു. ഇതിനിടയില്‍ എന്റെ ആഭരണങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഭർത്താവ്കവര്‍ന്നെടുത്തു” അവള്‍ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി.

സുരക്ഷിതത്വം തേടി വനിതാ ഇൻസ്‌പെക്ടർ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട് പോലീസ് സ്‌റ്റേഷനിലെത്തി. അവളുടെ വൈദ്യപരിശോധന നടത്തി, ഭർത്താവ്, ഭാര്യാസഹോദരി, ഭർതൃസഹോദരൻ എന്നിവർക്കെതിരെ കേസെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ആരോപണം ശരിയാണെങ്കില്‍ പ്രതികള്‍ക്കെതിരെ കർശന നടപടിയെടുക്കുമെന്ന് പോലീസ് ഉറപ്പ് നല്‍കി. ഈ സംഭവം നിയമപാലകർക്കുള്ളിലെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തെക്കുറിച്ച്‌ ചോദ്യങ്ങള്‍ ഉയർത്തുകയും ഇരയ്ക്ക് നീതി ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്റെ ആവശ്യകത ഉയർത്തിക്കാട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ഒരുപാട് പേരെ ക്ഷണിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവരുണ്ട്. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ നമുക്ക് വളരെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവരെ മാത്രം ക്ഷണിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവരും ഉണ്ട്.
